AER: Memories of Old is an indie action-adventure and open-world video game developed by Forgotten Key and published by Daedalic Entertainment. It is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Storyline
Explore a beautiful world of endless skies, colorful islands, and ancient ruins to learn its history where the gods of old are forgotten, lost in the events that shattered the world, leaving only fragments of islands in the sky. Play as one of the last few shapeshifters in your world, and head on a pilgrimage to the Land of Gods. Explore the world and uncover secrets that might help save your world and reality itself.
Gameplay
Transform into a bird at will to explore the islands. The flying controls were a struggle for me at first but once you get used to it it gets easier (still kind of hard sometimes). But overall flying in this game is super fun.
Discover hidden secrets and the many mysteries and puzzles within ancient temples. The puzzles in this game aren’t like Zelda-level puzzles- they’re pretty easy. During my playthrough, I kind of just naturally solved the puzzles by exploring the puzzle area.
Music
I loved the music in this game. Throughout the world, you will experience different music depending on where you are on the map and whether or not you’re flying. I’ve saved the soundtrack onto my Spotify because this music is beautiful just to have in the background of your everyday life.
Price
This is a game that I bought on sale for like $2! An extremely good price for this amazing game! The full price on steam is $17.99 CAD on Nintendo Switch it is $24.99 CAD. I wouldn’t pay full price for this game. I would in an instant if it was like a six-hour-long, game (at least). It’s just a very short game to be priced fairly high at full price. So wait for a sale!
Cozy or Not?
This game is super cozy! A great rainy day game. It is very short - I think it took me less than 3 hours but you could easily spend more time in this game by simply exploring every island (something I personally didn’t do). It is worth a play if you can get the game on sale.
I highly recommend this as a cozy and easy game. There's no fighting, just flying, the puzzles, and exploring the islands to learn more about the world and the story. My only complaints are I wish the game was longer and I wish there was more to do because some of the islands just feel weirdly empty sometimes.
