3 Free Game Demos On Nintendo Switch To Play | What Full Versions Am I Buying?

I sat down recently and decided to look through the Nintendo E-shop someone recently asked me if I played the Kirby demo yet. I said I hadn't and I realized that I have actually NEVER played a demo on switch before.

I then went through basically all the games with free demos and downloaded anything that seemed interesting to me and I ended up with about 20 items of free content to play with!

So I thought what better way to keep track of everything I played by writing blog posts about the demos I’ve played(with no spoilers!).

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Oh my gosh this game is so cute. This is definitely a cozy game aesthetically but with an action packed twist! With a classic Nintendo feel, fun music, amazing character design and level design I already know Kirby and the Forgotten Land is going to be a winner!

Will I Get the Full Game?

Yes! $80.00 is a lot for a new game (I’ll probably split it with my boyfriend) but this seems like an instant classic from Nintendo! This was so much fun to play through, I already want more! Can’t wait for the full game, this seems like it will easily be hours worth of fun!

Coffee Talk

In Coffee Talk you are a barista (I was a barista for several years so this game instantly interested me) in a fantasy world version of Seattle. Elves, dwarves, orcs and humans live together in this fantastical Seattle where mundane human things still take place, like going out for coffee! This seems like a perfect rainy day game if you just want to get cozy and enjoy a good story and interesting characters.

Will I Get The Full Game?

I think so! The price is good and I’m already intrigued after playing the demo. But I might wait for a sale.

The art is awesome and the music is cool and funky!

The stories seem interesting but when it comes to the dialogue I wish our job as the player would be more involved with what our character is saying. From the demo we can’t even see what we say and we just have to use our imagination and there’s no choice in dialogue either. Overall it’s an affordable game and I think it'll be worth a play through the full game. It looks like it could be an interesting story plus you get to make coffee (and even try your hand at latte art!) and there seemed to be a ton of different drinks you can make!

*Update*

I ended up purchasing the game on Steam since it was on sale for like $10 CDN.

Mohammad Fahmi Hasni, co-creator and writer of Coffee Talk passed away on March 28th, 2022 from an asthma attack. He was only 32 years old. To help Fahmi’s family in this difficult time, they are fundraising through Coffee Talk. The game will be discounted for 32% from Thursday, March 31st (10 AM PT) to Monday, April 4th (10 AM PT) and all of the proceeds from this period will be given to Fahmi’s family. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and I hope the fundraiser will help them through this horrible time.

Triangle Strategy

This game seems to be one in which your choices matter (I love that in a story game)! Right off the bat there is voice acting which I also love (less reading for me). I was able to choose Very Easy for the game difficulty haha!

I should’ve known this was a strategy game because it is literally called ‘Triangle Strategy’ but I seriously had no clue what this was like until now. I’m sure tons of people love this kind of game and are really good at it, it’s pretty slow though. But the music is super fun and the characters look awesome in their profiles. I love that you get a bit of their backstories, and of course the voice acting is a very nice touch.

Will I Get The Full Game?

I’ve never played anything like this before and I honestly don’t think it's for me… the story seems interesting and this might be a game I watch a playthrough of but I definitely don't think this is something I’ll spend $80.00 on because it's just not the kind of game genre I like to play.
